5 Reasons Your Best Friend Is the Best Person to Travel With

1. There's no fighting over what to do because you have the same feelings about how you want to mix "doing things" and "doing nothing." You both go into any trips you plan with similar feelings about how much stuff you want to do and how much sitting in a beach chair while someone brings you margaritas you want to do. Planning your itinerary is always a question of when you'll do stuff, not what you'll do.
2. However, you don't have to do everything together. When you're traveling with your boyfriend, you basically never part company unless you're in a fight. But with your bestie, you feel totally fine splitting up for a few hours if you don't want to do the same thing one day. You really want to see if Zara is different in Paris, and Sally really wants to go to the Rodin Museum? Not a problem! You'll meet up in three hours at the Eiffel Tower and swap stories over macarons.
3. Planning and logistical stuff isn't stressful. If you both like to plan, then all your bookings are split evenly and basically every day leading up to your trip involves an email from one of you with another suggestion for somewhere to stay or a place to eat. If she's the organization queen, you just trust her and Venmo her immediately.

4. There's no arguing in general, really. You already know the few things you don't agree on and anticipate them ahead of time. Sure, you kind of cannot deal with the fact that she likes to get to the airport with 30 minutes to spare. But you know this, so you just meet at the airport and get there whatever time you want. Problem solved.

5. You don't mind sharing close quarters. When your family went on vacation to Spain, you found out just how small European hotel rooms are. Thankfully, sharing a room with your bestie is a lot better than sharing a room with your brother. You don't even need two beds! (But if you can get a two-bedroom Airbnb, no one's complaining.)
